FREE CBB WED: 751 NEW MEXICO -4.5 (9 PM ET)
I’m laying the points with New Mexico on Wednesday night. The Lobos have reeled off three straight wins and will face a Colorado State squad that has been dead in the water for awhile now. The Rams have won just one of their last 11 games, while going 3-6-2 ATS. CSU has gone through a lot over the last two months, including losing a pair of coaches, one of which was HC Larry Eustachy. The Rams have played with virtually zero intensity on the defensive end allowing 83.7 points per game during the 1-10 slide. That’s bad news against a high powered New Mexico squad that wants to run at every opportunity. They’re 40th in the nation averaging 81 points per contest.
The Lobos won the first meeting 80-65 despite CSU making 53 percent of their shots. But once again, Rams’ turnovers did them in, losing the handle on the rock no less than 21 times. They’ve committed 35 turnovers in their last two games heading into the rematch and there’s no reason to believe this team wants more than to end the season soon. It is the final home game of the season for CSU, but home court advantage is minimal with 2,800 fans showing up for their most recent home game, about 32 percent of capacity. The last time these teams met in Fort Collins, UNM walked away an 84-71 winner. We expect similar results tonight and we’re laying the points with New Mexico on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
FREE MLB WINS TOTAL: PIRATES UNDER 76.5 WINS
You’d think the Pittsburgh Pirates are already undergoing a fire sale and we are just welcoming back pitchers and catchers. The Pirates have “freed” a couple of key plays from the roster, including Gerrit Cole and Andrew McCutchen. More are likely on their way. The clubhouse is already a messy situation and Clint Hurdle isn’t exactly the best game manager in the business. We expect the Pirates to race the Reds to the bottom of the NL Central and we won’t be shocked if they win the race. We’re playing the Pittsburgh Pirates Under 76.5 wins in 2018. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
